Today the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) launched its manifesto.
The full Manifesto is available to read here, but below are a few extracts that relate to subjects covered on the Engage 17 Website can be found below:
“The Ulster Unionist Party believes in a society where people have the means to get by, the opportunity to get on, and the expectation to be treated fairly regardless of their gender, age, religion, political beliefs or nationality.” (p28)
“The next Executive must lead by example – there can be no more excuses, delays or stalling exercises; the sexual orientation strategy must be delivered.” (p28)
“Prejudice and experiences of it can start at an early age. We want to empower our young people through age-appropriate sex and relationships education and support schools and teachers by equipping them with the knowledge of how to recognise instances of homophobic and transphobic bullying so it can be tackled at the first signs.” (p28-29)
